Built in the 10th to 11th century by King Suryavarman I, Prasat Kuhak Nokor showcases a mix of laterite and sandstone architecture. The surrounding rampart measures 35 meters long and 25 meters wide, with an eastern gateway standing 9 meters high. Notable features include a square throne decorated with lotus flowers and a local statue known as “Neak Ta Bark Kor.”
The region experienced political strife in the early 11th century, as King Suryavarman I contested the throne with Preah Bat Jayviravarman. By 1010, Suryavarman I emerged victorious, unifying the kingdom.
