Day 1: Arrival in Ratanakiri

Meals Included: Lunch & Dinner Begin your adventure with a transfer from your hotel to Phnom Penh International Airport for a domestic flight to Banlung. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by the natural beauty of Ratanakiri, famous for its rich, red soil. Enjoy lunch at the Terres Rouges Lodge, a stunning wooden retreat nestled by a tranquil lake and surrounded by lush gardens.

In the afternoon, embark on a thrilling jeep ride along bumpy roads to discover the spectacular waterfalls of the region. First, visit Teuk Cha Ong, renowned for its dramatic cascades, followed by the serene Okatchagn Waterfall. Relax and soak in the beauty of these natural wonders before returning to the lodge for dinner and a restful night.

Day 2: Cultural Immersion and Bamboo Forest Trekking

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Today, head northwest into the heart of Ratanakiri, crossing through enchanting bamboo forests on your way to the village of Voeune Sai, located along the picturesque Se San River. This unique locale is almost a Chinese enclave, where locals predominantly speak Chinese, providing a fascinating glimpse into the area’s diverse culture.

If conditions allow, take a boat trip to the Ka Chaoan village, famous for its striking Tampoun funeral totems, which reflect the rich spiritual heritage of the local people. Engage with the villagers, learn about their customs, and appreciate the artistry of these stunning totems. Return to Terres Rouges Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodations.

Day 3: Nature’s Serenity and Departure

Meals Included: Breakfast Start your final day with an early visit to the bustling Banlung market, where you can find local produce, handicrafts, and souvenirs. Next, journey to the serene Giant Loam Lake, a volcanic lake encircled by pristine rainforest. Here, you can take a refreshing swim or enjoy a peaceful walk around the lake, immersing yourself in the tranquil surroundings.

After this rejuvenating experience, you will be transferred back to the airport for your flight from Banlung to Phnom Penh. Arrive in Phnom Penh and enjoy a transfer back to your hotel, filled with memories of your extraordinary journey through Ratanakiri.

Nareth and her team are fantastic! We were there to build houses in the morning and they developed a custom afternoon itinerary that really helped us maximize our time in the area. They were all personable, easy to work with, responsive and flexible. Our guide Happy gave interesting insights into the local culture. The restaurant picks were spot on and showed the variety of local cuisine. The various sights we visited showed an interesting and diverse range of culture with something for everyone. Nareth planned an excellent and first-rate multi-day visit for us in Siem Riep. She is a great organizer, pays attention to the details and is helpful and flexible. Amongst the multitude of choices, she seems to know the best attractions and restaurants. From Khmer shows to the circus to artist workshops - she selects informative and high quality venues. Many different activities were provided. The lunches were delicious. Our guide, Happy, was very knowledgeable and approachable.
