Overnight in Battambang.
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a full day of exploration. The Bamboo Train is the first stop—a thrilling ride that will take you along a single rail track through Cambodia’s countryside. Experience the excitement of hopping off and dismantling the train to allow others to pass on this one-way route.
Next, visit the Killing Caves, a somber but important site in Cambodian history. Here, you will learn about the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge and the resilience of the Cambodian people. The caves hold a memorial shrine filled with skulls and bones, a powerful reminder of the country’s tragic past.
In the late afternoon, head to the Bat Cave. Arrive by 5:45 p.m. to secure a good viewing spot for the awe-inspiring bat exodus that happens around 6 p.m. Watch as over 7 million bats pour out of the cave in a breathtaking natural spectacle that lasts about 45 minutes.
Overnight in Battambang.
After an early breakfast, rent a bike and ride along the serene riverbanks towards Wat Ek Phnom, an 11th-century temple with a rich history and peaceful ambiance. The ride takes about an hour, and although there is little shade, the scenic journey through rural Cambodia is worth the effort. Don’t forget to carry water and sunscreen to stay refreshed along the way.
After exploring the temple, stop by the famous M Boat Noodles for lunch to enjoy delicious local cuisine. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to Battambang for your onward journey, concluding your unforgettable Battambang discovery tour.
