Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, our Eagle Discovery team will extend a warm Cambodian welcome, ensuring a smooth transfer to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a flavorful lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to Wat Preah Prom Rath, one of Siem Reap’s oldest pagodas with stunning traditional Khmer architecture. In the evening, meet the team from Volunteer Building Cambodia (VBC) for an orientation. Celebrate the start of your adventure with a welcome dinner featuring an enchanting APSARA dance performance, where ancient Khmer stories are told through graceful dance movements.
Start the day with a sunrise at Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an architectural marvel. Our knowledgeable guide will unveil the fascinating history of the Khmer Empire through the temple’s intricate bas-reliefs. After a hearty breakfast, visit the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom, where captivating stone faces reveal stories of the past. Cycle to Ta Prohm Temple, famous for its iconic entwined roots and mystical atmosphere. Today, you’ll engage in meaningful volunteer work with VBC, constructing a home for a local family. Learn about sustainable building practices while connecting with the community. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the site, bonding with fellow volunteers and local residents. In the evening, immerse yourself in a vibrant display of Cambodian artistry at Phare, the Cambodian Circus—a high-energy performance blending acrobatics, music, and storytelling that supports young artists from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Return to the VBC project site to continue your work and add the final touches to the new home. After a rewarding day, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before heading to Siem Reap’s bustling Night Market, a treasure trove of handmade crafts, souvenirs, and delicious street food. Experience the vibrant nightlife and take home unique Cambodian mementos.
Celebrate the housewarming with the family and community. Partake in a touching blessing ceremony, a symbol of gratitude and hope. VBC will present you with a certificate of appreciation, marking your impactful contribution. Continue your journey with a visit to a Buddhist temple for a water blessing—a sacred ritual believed to bring good fortune. After lunch, explore the APOPO Center, where trained rats detect landmines, and the War Museum, shedding light on Cambodia’s turbulent history and resilience.
Begin the day at the VBC-Community Centre, where you’ll be greeted by enthusiastic students and teachers. Engage in a cultural exchange program, discovering Cambodia’s traditional arts and rural education. After a delicious lunch, venture to the floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. Row through the serene flooded forest and watch the sunset over the lake, capturing Cambodia’s natural beauty. Enjoy dinner in town before returning to your hotel.
Escape to the enchanting Kulen Mountain, where a refreshing waterfall and sacred Buddhist sites await. Visit Preah Ang Thom to see the revered reclining Buddha, and marvel at the River of 1000 Lingas with its ancient Hindu carvings.
