Day 1: Phnom Penh to Kratie (L, D)

Morning Departure: Depart from Phnom Penh and drive to Neak Luong, where you’ll cross the Mekong River by ferry. Continue your scenic journey through the peaceful villages of Prey Veng and Chhlong. Along the way, enjoy the diversity of the Cambodian countryside, from rice fields to traditional Khmer and colonial-style houses.
Lunch in Kratie: Upon arrival in Kratie, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Wat Phnom Sambok: In the afternoon, visit Wat Phnom Sambok, known for its hilltop monasteries and sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
Dolphin Watching: Head north along picturesque roads to one of the best vantage points for observing the rare Irrawaddy river dolphins. Late afternoon is the perfect time to see these gentle creatures in the Mekong River.
Ferry to Koh Trong Island: After dolphin watching, return to Kratie and take a ferry across the river to Koh Trong Island, a tranquil retreat in the middle of the Mekong.
Dinner & Accommodation: Enjoy dinner at your hotel, Rajabori Villas, a charming boutique property with only six rooms, offering an intimate stay on Koh Trong Island.

Day 2: Explore Koh Trong Island by Horse Cart & Bicycle (B, L, D)

Horse Cart Ride: After breakfast, explore Koh Trong Island with a leisurely 9 km loop by horse cart. Ride through traditional Khmer villages, lush fruit orchards, and rice fields, while witnessing daily life on the island.
Tree Planting & Local Lunch: Participate in a tree-planting activity as part of the island’s environmental project, and then enjoy a delicious local lunch in a villager’s home, tasting authentic Khmer cuisine.
Bicycle Tour in Kratie: In the afternoon, take the ferry back to Kratie and start a cycling tour through the bustling Rokakandal Market. Here, try Krolan, Kratie’s famous sticky rice cooked in bamboo tubes. Continue to Wat Rokakandal, an 18th-century temple with beautiful wooden pillars and intricate carvings. On the way back, spot domesticated Sambar deer in the grounds of the French-style Governor’s office.
Sunset by the Mekong: As the sun sets, relax by the river, sip on a refreshing fruit shake, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere along the Mekong’s banks.
Dinner & Accommodation: Return to Koh Trong Island for dinner and another night at Rajabori Villas.

Day 3: Kratie - Kampong Cham - Phnom Penh (B, L)

Morning Ferry to Kratie: After breakfast, take the ferry back to Kratie and begin the drive south towards Kampong Cham.
Visit Chhup Rubber Plantation: En route, stop at the Chhup Rubber Plantation, first established by Michelin during the French colonial period, to learn about Cambodia’s rubber industry.
Lunch in Kampong Cham: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Kampong Cham.
Wat Nokor Temple: Visit Wat Nokor, a unique temple complex that combines an ancient 12th-century temple with a more modern pagoda.
Colonial Architecture: Take a short tour of Kampong Cham to admire the remaining colonial architecture from the French era.
Exotic Snack Stop in Skuon: Before returning to Phnom Penh, make a stop in the town of Skuon, famous for its deep-fried spiders—a true Cambodian delicacy for the adventurous.
Return to Phnom Penh: Arrive back in Phnom Penh by late afternoon, concluding your 3-day adventure.

Nareth and her team are fantastic! We were there to build houses in the morning and they developed a custom afternoon itinerary that really helped us maximize our time in the area. They were all personable, easy to work with, responsive and flexible. Our guide Happy gave interesting insights into the local culture. The restaurant picks were spot on and showed the variety of local cuisine. The various sights we visited showed an interesting and diverse range of culture with something for everyone. Nareth planned an excellent and first-rate multi-day visit for us in Siem Riep. She is a great organizer, pays attention to the details and is helpful and flexible.
