MORNING

7:00 AM Departure: We depart early from Banlung by motorbikes, heading towards the edge of Virachey National Park. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, including a ferry boat crossing and a drive through community forests and farmhouses. Along the way, keep an eye out for the infamous tarantulas that are common in the area.
After the motorbike journey, we’ll reach the starting point of our jungle trek.

MID-MORNING TREKKING

Begin the Trek: We’ll trek through dense jungle paths, climbing up and down hills and passing by towering giant trees and lush bamboo forests. The hike is challenging and can be a bit difficult at times, making it ideal for those seeking a real jungle adventure.
Along the trek, your experienced guide will share fascinating insights into the Indigenous peoples’ way of life, and how they use the forest for survival, and introduce you to different tree species and plants used for traditional medicine and other purposes.
Keep your camera ready, as you might spot monkeys or other wildlife during this 3-hour hike to a rapid stream.

Lunch & Relaxation:

After reaching the rapid stream, enjoy a well-deserved break. Relax, take in the peaceful jungle surroundings, and have a refreshing swim to cool off before continuing the trek back.

AFTERNOON

Trek Back: After a rejuvenating break, we’ll begin our return trek through a different trail, completing a loop. The 3-hour return journey will take you through more stunning jungle landscapes as we make our way back to the motorbikes.
We’ll ride back to Banlung City, arriving between 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, completing your adventurous day in Virachey National Park.

Nareth and her team are fantastic! We were there to build houses in the morning and they developed a custom afternoon itinerary that really helped us maximize our time in the area. They were all personable, easy to work with, responsive and flexible. Our guide Happy gave interesting insights into the local culture. The restaurant picks were spot on and showed the variety of local cuisine. The various sights we visited showed an interesting and diverse range of culture with something for everyone. Nareth planned an excellent and first-rate multi-day visit for us in Siem Riep. She is a great organizer, pays attention to the details and is helpful and flexible.
